Mique Eggermont Grant

Every year, the Mique Eggermont Foundation awards a grant to one visual artist from the (international) artistic community in the Netherlands. The grant is intended for an artist who is distinguished by an idiosyncratic and experimental visual practice.

The board of the foundation awards the grant on the basis of a project proposal that otherwise would not easily find backing with other cultural institutions or funds, but which can develop on its own merit thanks to the support this financial stimulus offers. In this way we want to enable independent artistic experimentation that does not naturally fit within established frameworks. The grant is emphatically not intended as a form of co-financing for an existing project that has already found its destination.

We do not expect an exhibition or other completed presentation of the chosen project. We do, however, enable artists to share their project with professionals and the public through an artist talk at one of the Maastricht art institutions.

Project proposals are welcome after our annual open call. A first deadline and more information will follow.

More information will follow.
